It’s the 1st week in February in the Midwest and the tempature was almost 70 degrees and sunny so it was a perfect day to take the new Dromida 1/18 Touring car to the park and try it out. Took the extra battery from the Dromida SC4.18 in case the Touring car one didn’t have much charge in it. I ran it Saturday night down at the legion hall and hadn’t charged it. Good this too as about 3 laps in the Touring battery crapped out.
Took my small cones with me to setup a course at the old tennis courts at the park. This would give me plenty of room to turn this little guy loose. About 3 laps or so in the 1st battery gave out. Changed batteries and off we go again.
This little guy was hauling butt. I was really impressed with the way it handled, not once did it traction roll. Lost the rear end several time when hitting a turn to hard but I would prefer that to traction roll much easier on the body. If you just backed out of the throttle a little coming into a turn you could come out WOT and blast down the straight. Not sure how long the battery would last but after 26 minutes of hard running it was still going. Would have run it longer but the motor was feeling rather warm so took the cautious route and stopped running it.
From the sounds of it I think the pinion mess may be a little tight. I need to check this before the next run.
